Celtic Wedding Bands - Information on sizing

The very first (and important) step : Before purchasing a celtic wedding ring is to be sure of your ring size.  Please note we are here to help all the time - please just email us!

The ideal size has the wedding ring fitting comfortably on the finger, but it is a little bit hard to get off. This allows pleasant wearing without the risk of losing the ring.  Proper ring sizing is really measuring to fit the knuckle, not the finger, since that is how the ring has to get on and off.

The best and safest method is to go visit a jeweler - All jewelers have a set of rings and will be able to size your finger for you and get an accurate measurement.  All ring sizes on our website are for the US market.  Note that finger size can change with the temperature and time of the day. Our fingers tend to be a bit enlarged in the morning and slightly smaller at night.

A professional jeweler will use a set of graduated rings to determine your wedding ring size.  It is important to be sized with a ring of the same approximate width you would like your wedding ring to be,  as it does make a difference in the sizing requirements somewhat - a wider ring (8mm and more) may require a 1/8 to a 1/4 size bigger than your original size.

If you have a ring that fits you comfortably, bring it with you and have it sized.  If you do not have the opportunity to go to a jeweler - please following the instructions below.   As previously mentioned all sizes of our wedding rings on this site are in US Sizes.

How to measure your finger

1. Wrap a piece of string or paper strip around the base of your finger.

2. Mark the string or paper where it overlaps to form a complete circle.

3. Measure the length of the section of string or paper where it overlaps around the finger.

4. Compare your measurement with this chart to determine your ring size.
